God’s Answer to Church Denominations
“This
morning as I was silent before God, I was considering the way that He views His
body, the church.”
This
morning as I was silent before God, I was considering the way He views His
Body. The Lord is merciful, kind, patient, loving and compassionate. He does
not see denominations, but rather looks at each individual heart,
within every fellowship, or assembly, around the world.
I
was thinking about the wonderful Christians that Jose and I have known from many
different denominations. We have known true Christians
who have accepted what Jesus Christ has done for them, and therefore
live their lives for Him, who represent the Catholic, Baptist, Episcopalian,
Presbyterian, Methodist, non-denominational, charismatic, etc. faiths.
I
was thinking about the way that each of the different denominations is able to “prove” that what they
believe in is in the Bible, and therefore they are right, and the others are
wrong. Sometimes it is with much
misinformation, judgment, condemnation, and a lack of compassion, that the
other denominations are viewed. I asked
God about this. The following is what I
believe He showed me.
Regardless
of the denomination, those who have accepted that Jesus is the Son of God, (and
God Himself), sent from above, to die for our sins (take our punishment), and
have received what He has done for them, and follow Him, are saved, and
will go to heaven. We should consider
them as such and work together to build up the Kingdom of God.
Then
the Lord brought to my mind an excerpt from “the parable of the sower.”
Mark 4:8 "Other seeds fell into the good soil,
and as they grew up and increased, they yielded a crop and produced thirty,
sixty, and a hundredfold."
God showed me that all of the seeds that fell into the good soil are saved. Whether one yields a crop that produces thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold will depend on how closely they hear and obey the Holy Spirit. For example, those producing the hundredfold will be those who are totally surrendered to living their lives in moment by moment, instant, joyful obedience to the Holy Spirit.
