The U.S.A. Weekend Seminar Series
“Spiritual Warfare”
1.
All
seminars are held by invitation from your church or ministry.
2. Because of the amount of materials that must be covered, seven weekend
sessions are required. We travel by auto as a family, with our four children, when
asked to minister in the Southwest.
This includes New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and the western Texas areas.
3. Outside of this geographical area, I, Jose,
will come alone by airplane.
4. In most seminars, the Lord leads us to have times of
ministry, which include words of knowledge, prophetical words, and
healings. If your church desires for
this type of ministry within the teaching times we can accommodate this. If however you would only desire to have a
straight teaching seminar, we will honor this as well. Our vision and calling is to assist your
ministry in receiving the greatest benefits during this time.
5. We do not request honorariums or love
offerings, but trust the Lord to speak to the hosting church as to what His
will is.
6. Our ministerial requirements from you the hosting church are
room and board either in a motel or at one of the brethren’s home during our
stay, and a roundtrip airplane ticket for Jose if he comes alone by airplane.
7.
Thank you and God bless you!

Principles of the Blood of Christ
Our Life in the World of the Blood
Luke 22:20
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
·
In my blood is in the Greek “dative case of location.”
·
Because we are located in the earthly world
we are affected by, and are part of everything that belongs to the world.
·
The New Covenant is
located in the blood, or more accurately in the world of the blood of
Jesus. All that the blood of Jesus
accomplishes affects everything in the New Covenant. As long as we maintain ourselves in covenant with the Lord, we
automatically live inside of the world of the blood of Jesus Christ. The world of the blood then works back
through us to affect us with all of its benefits.
·
You and I plea the blood
of Jesus daily, and rightfully so. It
is vital to claim our privilege to the blood, especially before the devil.
More powerful though is to live constantly inside the world of the blood
of Jesus as we keep covenant with the Lord.
Matthew
26:28 For this is my blood of the new ( new in kind, quality,
substance and essence) testament, ( will
or covenant) which is shed (present passive part) for many for (INTO) the remission( sending
away) of sins.
·
Shed Means to pour out lavishly and
abundantly.
·
It
is poured out, rather than was poured out, because the verb tense is in the
present.
·
The
blood of the New Covenant is being continuously poured out, in the same way
that fluids are poured out, to continually release and send away from us the
sins as we repent from them.
· The New Covenant can only
maintain its eternal “newness” through the blood, which is eternally poured out
to keep it new as it is manifested in the world or the realm of the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup,
when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this
do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
·
We
are told that that the cup is likewise one of the channels that God dispenses
the New Covenant of the Lord Jesus, which dwells in, and is affected in its
totality, by the world of the blood of the Lord Jesus.
Heb 10:19 Having therefore,
brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, Greek: We have at all times
therefore a fearless confidence before God that gives us an entrance into the holies by the blood of
Jesus.
·
Boldness is one of my
favorite New Testament words. It simply
means, “ to tell it like it is.”
Because the blood of Christ has made us charming and lovely before the
eyes of God we now have boldness with Him.
·
Boldness urges us
to come before God, having nothing to hide from Him, without shame or guilt,
fully confident and assured, and with the ability to speak intimately, frankly
and with reverential bluntness.
The Fellowship of the Blood
1 John
1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he
is in the light, we have fellowship (we share things in
common one with another ) and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from
all sin.
·
Greek (my paraphrase):
But if we should conduct our life in the light, in the same manner as He
(conducts Himself) in the light, we associate (PRESENT TENSE) one with the
other. This association allows for the
Lord and us to progressively participate and share with one another. This sharing in common allows us to obtain
the things of God as the blood of Jesus Christ His Son continuously cleanses us
(PRESENT TENSE) (so that we can
progressively obtain as we are cleansed)
1 Corinthians 10:16
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion ( “a” communion, not “the” communion) of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it
not the communion of the body of Christ?
·
Marvin Vincent, the
Greek scholar translates the first part of First Corinthians ten and sixteen in
the following way. “The cup over which the familiar formula of blessing is
pronounced.”
·
The communion of the blood Communion is the word for fellowship.
The Redemption Through the Blood
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace,
wherein he hath made us accepted
(charming
and lovely) in the beloved.
Verse 7;
In whom we have redemption
(the
ransom payment of slaves that has freed us) through his blood, the forgiveness (sending away) of sins,
according to the riches of his grace;
·
Greek ( my paraphrase) In whom we have the
liberation of slaves brought about by the Lord Jesus’ satisfactory ransom
payment. This ransom payment is His
blood. The blood serves as God’s ransom
payment because it has the ability to send our sins away.
· Verse six and seven of
Ephesians chapter one tells us that because the blood of the Lord has sent away
our sins away, we are now (“accepted”) charming, and lovely, in the eyes of the Father.
8
Wherein(Greek: which) he hath abounded (caused
us to abound) toward
( into) us in all wisdom and prudence;
·
The
importance of verse eight is that the abundance of the Lord’s blessings is
limited by wisdom and prudence. Wisdom
is our understanding of the will and the ways of God, and our submission of
every part of our lives to that will.
Prudence is our step-by-step, daily execution of this will, as we are
guided by the voice of the Holy Spirit. The abundance of God’s riches and
blessings are released in proportion to how much we conform our daily conduct
to God’s wisdom and prudence.
· Toward is the word “into.” The saints who have become charming and lovely
to God are now the receptacles “into” which God desires to funnel all that He
is, and all that He has. The more
obedience, the more funneling!
1 Corinthians 11:25
For as often as ye eat
this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
·
Greek: For at any time that you choose to eat
this bread and drink this cup, you publicly proclaim and declare with
thoroughness all that the death (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) of
the Lord Jesus signifies, until the time that He chooses to come.
Colossians 1:20
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
·
Greek ( paraphrase) He brought about the state of freshness and newness to the whole universe through the
blood of His cross. He is able to
harmonize all things back to Himself whether upon the earth or in heaven through the blood of His cross.
The Propitiation in His Blood
Romans
3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance
of God;
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through
the forbearance of God;
·
Our faith in all that the blood of Christ
accomplishes releases our communion with it and allows us to obtain from it in
proportion to our faith.
Ephesians 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by
the blood of Christ
·
Greek paraphrase; you were once far off, not only in
distance but alienated from God and without access to the things that belong to
Him. Now by His blood, you have become
close to Him and enjoy full access to Him and His things.

Principles of the Blood of Christ
The Cleansing of the Blood
Hebrews
9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained ( to find, discover, or to meet upon) eternal redemption( loosening) for us.
Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the
ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the
flesh:
Hebrews 9:14 How
much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered
himself without spot (to be without moral stain or blemish.) to God, purge your conscience from dead works ( corpse like works) to serve the living God?
·
The blood of bulls and calves could only
furnish the house of Israel with purity of the flesh. Their blood however could never purify the spirit and soul of man
or woman from these fleshly efforts to serve the living God.
Hebrews 9:22 And
almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of
blood is no remission.
·
Greek: And almost all things with blood are
cleansed according to the law. Apart
from the blood shedding (through the giving up of a life) can there be the sending away of sins.
Heb 9:23 ¶ It was therefore necessary that the patterns
of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things
themselves with better sacrifices than these.
·
Greek: It is
necessary that the earthly copy of the things which are in the heavens
themselves be purified with the blood of bulls and goats, but the
heavenly original with more excellent sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy
places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven
itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
·
Greek: Christ did not enter into the holies
made with human hands which is merely a copy resembling the authentic.
He entered into heaven itself to make Himself visible before the face of
the God on our behalf.
Hebrews 7:25
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost ( completely, perfectly, utterly) that come unto God by him, seeing he
ever liveth to make intercession for them
Heb 9:23 ¶ It was therefore necessary that the patterns
of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things
themselves with better sacrifices than these.
·
In verse twenty-three we observe that the earthly tabernacle
was cleansed with the blood of bulls and goats so that priestly ministry could
take place. How much more effective can
our ministries be if the authentic heavenly tabernacle has been cleansed with
the blood of Jesus? There is no excuse
for each of us to be powerfully used by the Lord if we serve the living God and
not dead works.
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance
of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies
washed with pure water.
·
Greek: Let us continuously approach God with a heart that is genuine and real (not religious) because we are fully confident.
This confidence comes through our faith in all that Christ has done for
us. We base this faith on the fact that our hearts were once in the past sprinkled from an evil
conscience, but the impact of this event has a lasting and eternal impact. Likewise, our bodies were once in the past
washed with pure water (the blood of Christ), but the impact of
this event has a lasting and eternal impact.
Hebrews 11:28
Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he
that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
Greek: By faith he Moses performed the Passover and the pouring of the blood
lest the destroyer of the firstborn might do them violence and cause them
injury.
·
This is a very important scripture in spiritual warfare. Our
claiming of the blood of Jesus towards Satan will stop in part the violence and
injury that he would cause to our loved ones and us.
·
However we must not forget to perform the Passover in
conjunction with claiming the blood of Jesus so that our protection will be
complete.
·
For us to day, the
Passover signifies our complete exiting from the land of sin; our eating of the
unleavened bread, which is a holy life before God; our not fearing man or
Satan, but stepping out instead into a life of faith and obedience, which will
take us into the promised land of freedom and our spiritual vocation.
1 Peter
1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were
not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
·
Greek:
Knowing that with things which perish such as silver and gold (which cannot pay
the sufficient ransom payment to liberate slaves) you were bought, from your empty manner of life handed
down to you from your ancestors.
19
But with the precious blood of
Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
(internal purity) and without spot.(external staining by sin)
· Greek: But by the precious and
highly honored blood as of a lamb void of internal blemishes and thus unspotted
externally by the world and Satan.

A Study on Deception and the Judgment of God
2 Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of
light.
Metaschematizo
·
To alter the outward appearance without a significant inward
change of the heart. The tense is in
the present/ middle, which means this deceptive transformation is a continuous
spiritual tactic of the enemy. It is
closely illustrated to an architectural schematic, and shows us how the enemy
can change the schematic of things.
·
Ephesians
4:18 Having the understanding darkened,
being alienated
from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the
blindness of their heart:
·
Greek: On account of
the hardness of their hearts (towards God) there is a void of knowledge in them
that has permanently separated them from intimacy and fellowship with the Lord
and has permanently darkened their thoughts that concern God.
Deception from First Timothy
1 Tim 4:1 ¶ Now
the Spirit speaketh expressly (“speaking plainly”; probably through the mouths
of prophets), that in the latter times( not specific times) some shall depart from the
faith, giving heed to seducing
spirits, and doctrines
of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having
their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Deception from Romans One
Rom 1:18For the wrath of God is
revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold(suppress) the truth in unrighteousness;
21.
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart was darkened.
·
Having
known God, they absolutely refused to glorify Him as God or were thankful to
Him. The end result of pushing God
away is that their reflections and reasonings about life became futile and
pointless, allowing them to fall into deception and make wrong decisions. The
end result is that their heart, now void of understanding, became darkened.
22.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
·
Professing
to be wise, they became morons.
23.
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made
like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping
things.
·
And exchanged the glory of the undecaying
and sinless God for the likeness of the image of decaying and sinful….
24.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of
their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
· Wherefore God handed them over
by the cravings and lusts of their hearts into uncleanness so that they would
dishonor their own bodies between themselves.
25.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served
the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
·
Who exchanged the truth about God for falsehood, thus
religiously reverencing and serving the created thing more than Him who created
it.
26.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even
their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
·
Because of this reason, God handed them over to
dishonoring passions, for even their females exchanged the things that are
supposed to be governed by nature, to do things which are against the laws of
nature.
27.
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was
meet.
·
And in the same manner even the males having left the
instincts that nature has given them concerning females, have their own
cravings set on fire towards each other, males with males, executing fully what
is shameful, and getting what is due, as the necessary reward given to them as
compensation for their error.
28. And even as they did not like to
retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do
those things which are not convenient;
Deception from Second Thessalonians
2Thess 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already
work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom
the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
·
The
word for; “destroy” means to render
useless, idle or ineffective, the works of the Evil One.
9
Even him, whose coming is after
the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
· Even to him whose arrival is in
accordance to effective work of Satan who makes fully functional every type of
dunamis power and pseudo signs and wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the
truth, that they might be saved.
·
And in the sphere of every
deceit belonging to unrighteousness, in them which are continually perishing
and being destroyed, because the love of what is genuine and accurate about God
they did not welcome, so as to result in their being saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send
them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
· Through this, God will sends to
them an energy that will effectively produce deception, misleading, and
wandering (from the truth) in order that they would believe what is
pseudo or false.
12 That they all might be damned who
believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
·
In order that may be judged “every type of
individual” who believed not in what is genuine and accurate about God but
rather had their good pleasure in unrighteousness.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their
own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the
judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like
manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh,
are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
2Peter 2:6 And turning the
cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow (condemned
them through a catastrophe), making them an ensample unto those that after should live
ungodly;

Principles of spiritual warfare
Offensive
Warfare Strategies
1 Joh 5:18 ¶ We know that whosoever is born of
God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that
wicked one toucheth him not.
· Anyone having been begotten out
of God in no way any longer habitually practices sin, but he that was begotten
out of God guards himself and the wicked one in no way can grab and seize him.
Mat 12:29 Or else how can one enter into a strong
man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then
he will spoil his house.
· Greek (paraphrase) No one will have the dunamis power to
come into the strong one’s house in order to change the situation, thoroughly
plunder his goods until they are laid waste, and then occupy. (He must bind the strong one first and then
he will be able to thoroughly plunder.
Luke 11:21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace,
his goods are in peace:
·
Greek: When the
strong one fully furnished with weaponry guards his palace, his goods, wealth,
and property lie in peace.
But when a stronger than he shall
come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he
trusted, and divideth his spoils.
·
Greek: But when a stronger one than the strong man comes upon him
with a hostile intent, attacks him, and conquers him, he takes from the strong
man the armor which he trusted in and thoroughly distributes out (to others)
the strong one’s weapons and goods.
·
Jesus is obviously the stronger one. My friends, the strong man must be defeated
in two ways. His binding by us is the point in which there is not one
significant area of unrepentant sin left in our lives. Secondly, it is only the
revelation of the Lord Jesus laboring in us by His grace, and attacking the
strongman as the stronger one, that is effective
·
With the strong man is finally bound and
conquered we find ourselves running, leaping forward, and plundering for the
Lord!
Tim 2:2 For kings, and for all
that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all
godliness and honesty.
·
The result of an active prayer line by Christians changes
the face of outward circumstances;
·
Quiet Quiet, is the result of freedom from disturbances and problems
that barrage us from the external world.
Prayer changes the outward condition of the world so that Christians can
live a “quite life”
·
Peaceable: This is the tranquility
that is developed from within a person as Christ heals and delivers.
·
Godliness: Comes from two words, which mean to render devotion, worship,
and reverence to the Lord in a fashion that is pleasing to Him.
·
Honesty; The dignity and
godliness of the man and woman of God that incites reverence from others.
Mark 3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell
down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
·
They saw him: A very powerful
term! This word is the word for a “movie
theatre.” When we go to the movies
we are absorbed for a few hours with the ongoing scenes that flash before our
eyes. When the demonic behold the ongoing power and works of Jesus as a movie,
they fall down before Him. . The Strong’s concordance says it all “to
fall forwards, fall down, prostrate one’s self before, in homage or
supplication: at one’s feet”
· Our lives must be a living theater of the glory and the
power of the Son of God so that people,
Matthew 16:19 And I
will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on
earth shall be loosed in heaven.
·
Greek: ( paraphrase) At whatever point you have once and for all
prohibited or disallowed something from happening upon the earth it shall be at the same point eternally
prohibited and disallowed in the heavens. At whatever point you once and for
all permit or allow for something to happen upon the earth, it shall be at that
same point eternally permitted and allowed in the heavens.
Mark 1:25 And Jesus
rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get
thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,
and him only shalt thou serve.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said,
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (rhema word) that proceedeth out of the mouth
of God.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the
helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the rhema word of God:
Luke 10:17 ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils
are subject (continuous military
subjection) unto
us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I
beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power
to tread (to trample, crush with the feet and advance by setting the foot
upon) on serpents and scorpions, and
over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
James 4:7 Submit (In a military fashion) yourselves
therefore to God. Resist (opposing the
devil spiritually) the devil, and he will flee from you.

The Attack on the Western Church Through Financial Prosperity
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children,
tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait
to deceive;
·
Greek: By the “spiritual dice playing” of men in which they work
around you with the goal of implementing the methodology of error.
·
Beware of the “winds of
doctrine” concerning financial prosperity that are not scriptural.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven
against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
·
“Doctrines of men” activate the methods of error,
and suppresses the righteousness of God.
God’s righteousness is the visible manifestation of His glorious deeds
upon the earth. If we teach, or are
taught what is wrong, the activity of the Spirit of God is restricted in proportion
to the error.
1Tim 6:5 Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt ( thoroughly
corrupted) minds, and destitute (defrauded) of the truth, supposing that gain is
godliness ( esteeming as the law or the custom
of the land that material acquisition brings godliness): from such withdraw thyself.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou
mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy
soul prospereth.
·
New
Testament prosperity comes from two words that mean a “good road” or a “good path”. This implies success or accomplishing in an expeditious matter
what we have set out to do. If we
desire to have true success in our finances as believers, our success must
start with a prosperous spiritual condition.
Matthew 6:24 No man
can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and
mammon.
·
Greek: You cannot be a slave to two
lords… You will hate one, and love the other one unconditionally…you will
embrace one; and think little of the other…Ye cannot be a slave to God and to
material acquisitions.
·
Matthew six and twenty four is another one of those “famous”
proportional scriptures. To the extent
that we embrace material gain for selfish motives is to the same extent that we
will think little of, and hate the Lord.
By hating the Lord, I mean to say that we will hate what He requires
from us that regard the yielding up of the material wealth that we dearly
embrace. Our ability to obey the Lord, as Lord, will be restricted likewise to
the extent that we are submitted to the lordship of material gain.
1 Tim 6:6 ¶ But
godliness with contentment is great gain.
·
Greek (paraphrase & my
thoughts): What is great gain is (not
selfish material acquisition but) godliness with contentment.
·
Contentment
- Is a most interesting word. It is defined as the state of being so filled
with the Spirit of God that the believer is self sufficient solely in the
fullness of the Spirit. By this
self-sufficiency I mean, that the Christian is totally free or independent from
being swayed or trapped by the sufficiency that comes from external
circumstances and worldly affairs. His
or her sole sufficiency is in the Lord and not upon external means. This type
of believers are content with having little or much, because they independently
self-sufficient from the world, and solely dependent and self sufficient in the
revelation of the Lord Jesus.
7
For we brought nothing into this world,
and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
·
I love how the Greek NT scholar Marvin Vincent
translates this scripture; “ We brought nothing
into this world because we can carry nothing out.”
8
And having food and raiment let us
be therewith content.
·
Greek: And having food and covering we shall be
self sufficient in
the Lord.
9
But they that will(to plan for and deliberately purpose
to ) be rich fall into temptation( the trials of the devil and sin)
and a snare (the
same word used for a snare used to catch birds and beasts, unaware), and
into many foolish(void of understanding) and hurtful( injurious) lusts, which drown men in
destruction and perdition.( which cause men to sink into destruction and perdition)
·
Destruction: Destruction has
to do with numerous types of earthly calamities, bondages, and illnesses that
come to plague people as they make it their chief aim to become rich.
·
Perdition – Perdition can
also be termed as destruction, but many times it is the outcome of the
destruction brought by the love of money.
Perdition can contain within it both
spiritual and eternal aspects. The calamities brought by the love of money on
many occasions send people to hell because the lord mammon has taken the
precedence over the Lord Jesus.
Revelation 9:11 And
they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name
in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
· The name Appollyon, which the
angel of the bottomless pit, comes from the same root word for perdition.
Both
are defined as “destroyer” and “destruction.” I believe that that the danger of
the Christian seeking material acquisitions is self-explanatory.
10
for the love
of money (a
fond love) is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after( to stretch out after in order to
grasp) they have erred
from the faith ( to be led astray from the truth and into idolatry), and
pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (grief, distress and pain.)
·
Greek:
For “a”(not “the”) root of all types of what is injurious, destructive and
harmful is the fondness of money
11
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
·
I simply love the
word “flee”! Our English word for fugitive comes from this
word. Several dictionary definitions such as a runaway, a person who is
fleeing, or someone who takes to flight describes the fugitive. My friends, we must be fugitives from the
love of selfish material gain.
·
Likewise, I love
the word “follow after”, which is none else than the word for persecute!
·
My friends, we must be
fugitives from the love money and persecute instead righteousness, godliness,
faith, love, patience, and meekness!
·
Righteousness:
The visible and righteous
exhibitions of the works of the invisible God through our lives. Likewise, righteousness is also the outward
results of the grace or labor that the Lord performs within us. We must be
“living molds” of the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, the outcome of the super
human labor of the revealed Christ, and not the bondage brought through our own
efforts by the works of the law. Persecute
this!
·
Godliness A life that is entirely
pleasing to God. Persecute this!
·
Faith Living by “the faith of God”
which is found in His rhema word, as we restrict our lives to the voice of the
Spirit. Persecute this!
·
Love Unconditional, sacrificial
love, for our neighbor and brethren. Persecute
this!
·
Patience Loving endurance with
the quirks and hang-ups of others. Persecute
this!
·
Meekness This is the conclusive mark of
the “love slave” of God! It is the
yielding up of all of our rights to the Lord.
Persecute this!
·
12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto
thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many
witnesses.
·
Greek:
Athletically agonize in the beautifully athletic conflict of faith.
·
Grasp and make
for your own eternal life now on earth.
·
In which you have
confessed a beautiful confession. (Confession is the reality of what lies inside of us as expressed outwardly through an
honest mouth. A beautiful confession
can only come forth from a beautiful life.)
13
That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until
the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
o
Greek Guard, and watch over carefully, in order to fully perform, the
commandment without blemish, free from vice, and with nothing that the devil or
man can take a hold of, or point an accusatory finger at.
17
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not
highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us
richly all things to enjoy
·
Nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living
God, “Nor to hope in the riches of uncertainty.”
·
Who giveth us richly all things to
enjoy Who supplies us richly from His
own resources.
18
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute,
willing to communicate;
·
Ready to distribute Always ready to impart
with openhanded liberality.
·
Willing to communicate The TDNT defines
this rare New Testament word as “belonging or appointed to society” or “gladly giving others a share.”
·
“Willing to communicate” comes from the word for fellowship, which is to “have in
common.”
19
Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the
time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
·
Greek: Treasuring up for themselves a beautiful
foundation into the future so that they may be free in the present time to grasp and make their own eternal life.
2 Corinthians
9:6 But this I say, He which soweth
sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap
also bountifully.
·
Greek: “He that soweth upon a
blessing shall reap upon a blessing.”

John 16:11 Of judgment,
because the prince of this world is judged.
“About judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged,
condemned, and a sentence possessing a final verdict is already passed upon
him”
Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through
dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
·
He travels continually throughout differing arid places
“seeking a cessation of his now unpleasant circumstances” (because he has
been cast out of the man), and in no way finds it (showing the necessity
the demons have to posses a living being).
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out;
and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
·
I will return into my house whence I came out, and having
come, finds it vacant and occupied, and in a perfected state of being swept,
and cosmetically adorned.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more
wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of
that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked
generation.
·
Takes to accompany him
seven other spirits… and having completely entered into the person come to take
a comfortable residence within
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for
the prince of this world cometh, and hath
nothing in
me.
·
Binding the
enemy is very similar in nature.
·
Once again we err in part, when we think that
our binding of the enemy has to do solely with hurling scriptural phrases at
him.
· Absolute binding of the enemy
can only occur, when each and every part of our lives have come into conformity
with the will of the Lord, and the enemy is forbidden a place or space where he
can afflict us.
1 Cor 5:8 Therefore let us
keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and
wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
2Cor 1:12 ¶ For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our
conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our
conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
2 Cor 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word
of God: but as of sincerity but as of God, in the sight of
God speak we in Christ
· In the above-mentioned three
verses, we see that the word sincerity
contains within its roots the word for “sun” and “judge” in the Greek.
Only a life of purity before the Lord will make us into a clear
windowpane by which the rays of the sun or “The Son” can shine through. An impure life will make us into a dirty
piece of glass through which the image of the Lord can hardly be seen
Ephesians 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
·
Many of us imagine that Ephesians chapter two is Paul’s
discussion focusing on unbelievers. I
tend to disagree.
· The Greek word for worketh
is defined as giving energy to.
· This particular verse is in the present participle. Simply speaking it signifies that the sons
of disobedience energize the scheme of the devil on a continuous basis.
The word for disobedience
is being non compliant.
Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
·
Another version renders “giving
place”, as our construction of a landing strip, or an airport runway on our
very being, for the devil to land upon!
Only our sin and disobedience can do that. Any time that we are in willful disobedience to the Lord, we
automatically open up an airport on our very backs, where the enemy can land
and take off at his personal whims and fancy!
Luke 8:12 Those by the way
side (those that fall on the hard and traveled road) are they that hear (continuously hearing); then cometh (constantly comes) the devil, and taketh(constantly takes away) away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be
saved.
1 Thess 2:18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and
again; but Satan hindered us.
Roman 16:19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all
men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto
that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
20
And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
·
Simple
concerning evil is our being harmless, and being matured into a Christian life
that eventually becomes unmixed with evil.
To bruise Satan, is to shatter and crush him to pieces underneath
our feet. What an encouragement for us
to continue to purify ourselves before our God!
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
·
Be
temperate dispassionate and serious in your life, be awake and watchful,
because your opponent in a suit of law, the devil, as a roaring lion, conducts
himself around, arduously and earnestly seeking, whom he may drink down,
swallow, consume, and destroy.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the
Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto
the death.
·
The
true Greek interpretation; we have overcome Satan by means of the blood of the
lamb and by means of the word of our martyrdom.”

Principles of
spiritual warfare
The Armor of God
·
The full armor of God comes from a Greek word
that in reality means the “full array of the weapons that belong to God.”
·
My experience as a believer concerning the
putting on of the armor of God has been one of every day by prayer or “positive
confession” putting on the armor piece by piece. Though these things are not wrong in themselves, I believe that
there is a great deal more to effectively and correctly put on the full armor
of God.
·
I would like to make a comment concerning
“positive confessions.” The scriptural definition of “confession” is the
outward testimony or evidence that our mouths give as to the reality of what is
happening inwardly with us. Confession
is the outward act that our mouths give in agreement to our spiritual state
with the Lord.
Eph 6:10 ¶ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and
in the power of his might.
· In almost every instance in
which Paul commands us to take a step of action in putting on the full armor of
God, it occurs in the Greek aorist tense. The aorist tense is called the tense
of punticular action, which is another word for a “punctuation mark.”
·
The aorist tense is an event that produces a punctuation
mark on history’s time line. It is one such as the death of the Lord Jesus on
the cross.
Our putting on the full array of the Lord’s weaponry must be
done as a once and for all putting on which produces a historical punctuation
mark, and then never taking it off again.
If we through our prayers and positive confession are to put on the
full array of God’s weaponry daily, then Paul could not have used the aorist
tense. He should have said, “Continue
to put on daily the full armor of God.”
·
It is my belief that the absolute and complete putting on of
the Lord’s armor can only be progressively accomplished and completed as we
attain to the maturity of the stature of Christ by becoming as free and holy as
He is and conformed to His image.
11
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
·
“That ye may
be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” is defined in verse eleven as having enough of God’s dunamis
power manifested inwardly so as to allow us to hold our ground against the
“methods” of the enemy and to never to lose it again.
·
We can never accomplish this by putting on a daily armor through prayer
and positive confession. This is the
result of the revelation of the Lord that subdues every part of our lives into
submission to His will.
12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.
·
We must fight by the Spirit without
compromise, or without discouragement, until we remain standing victoriously;
as Satan, sin and the world lay scattered at our feet in full visibility,
once our ball of dust finally settles!
·
The command is to carry out all things to a complete victory!
Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence
only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
·
Here
Paul commands us to work out, carry out, and accomplish absolutely everything
to completion that pertains to our salvation, and that with utmost serious
cautiousness.
14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
having on the breastplate of righteousness;
·
“Having your loins girt about with truth”. A belt is used to keep
our clothing intact. When we put our
shirt our blouse inside our pants or skirt, and place some type of belt around
our waist, the belt itself keeps these articles of clothing in place.
·
Truth is what is genuine, accurate, and in accordance to
fact. It is not what we believe from
error or in misunderstanding of the word of God that will set us free, but what
be believe about the Word which is its essence, reality, and accuracy.
15
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
·
Greek: Having your feet
undergirded (aorist tense) so as to walk with the readiness of the good news
that brings peace.
·
Paul tells us here that the conducting of our lives in
this world among believers and non-believers must be accomplished by our being
ready or prepared to offer the good news that brings peace to them.
·
We can only preach the gospel prepared in such a way that
it will bring others into this same state of “shalom” only when we first
experience it. We can only give to
others what we have inside of us.
16
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
·
Literally it is a
shield that is made up purely of faith.
·
When we walk taking the shield
of God’s faith, we operate by His rhema word, and the faith, power, and the revelation
of the Son of God will subdue all the “methods” of the enemy against us, thus
quenching all of his fiery darts.
17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
·
The sword of the Spirit is defined in the Greek as the
“rhema word” of God and not the logos word.
I believe that this is self-explanatory to all of us.
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 ¶ And for me, that utterance may
be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of
the gospel,
·
Greek: ( paraphrase)And for me that words may be given
so that when I open my mouth to proclaim the mystery of the gospel I will do it
without fear, embarrassment, intimidation, or hindrances. In other words I will tell is as it is.
· Paul here defines for us in one
verse the true minister of the Lord. “In all liberty, freedom, fearlessness,
and absence of bondages, manifest to a lost and dying world the Christ within
you through your spiritual gifts and ministries.”
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak
boldly, as I ought to speak.
Intercession in Spiritual Warfare
Romans 8:26 ¶ Likewise the Spirit
also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which
cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the
hearts knoweth( INTUITIVELY) what is
the mind ( FOCUS and MINDSET) of the Spirit, because he maketh
intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the rhema word of God:
James 5:16 Confess your faults
one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual
fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
·
Greek: Sufficient inward residing strength has
the petitions of the righteous to energize, and make fully effective, and
operational, the works of God towards displaying His kingdom. (as the Holy
Spirit intercedes through the believer in the world of the Spirit according to
His focus and mindset.
