The
Importance of Purity
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for
the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
·
In
John chapter fourteen we find Jesus discussing about His soon to come
confrontation with Satan through the hands of Judah, and his subsequent arrest
and crucifixion. In all certainty, the
words of Jesus are more emphatic in the Greek.
In His own words He says, “The
prince of the cosmos comes, and it is impossible for him to have even have the
tiniest connection with me.”
· This is true binding
Matthew 8:29 And, behold, they
cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art
thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Mark 5:7 And cried with a loud
voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high
God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
·
There is no absolutely nor relationship between you and us.
·
This is why they were so fearful.
· The truth is
defined as what is accurate, precise and accurate in relationship to God, His
will and His ways.
Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.
topon opportunity, power, occasion for acting
Another version
renders “giving
place”, as our construction of a landing strip, or an
airport runway on our very being, for the devil to land upon! Only our sin and disobedience can do
that. Any time that we are in willful
disobedience to the Lord, we automatically open up an airport on our very
backs, where the enemy can land and take off at his personal whims and fancy!
John 8:32 And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore
shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said,
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every(RHEMA) word that
proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the(RHEMA) word of God:
Romans 10:10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession(Homologia)
is made unto salvation.
Ephesians 1:17 That the God of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge
<1922> of him:
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come
in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge <1922>
of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature
of the fulness of Christ:
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we
also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire
that ye might be filled with the knowledge <1922> of his will in all wisdom and spiritual
understanding;
Colossians 2:2 That their hearts
might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the
full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement <1922> of the mystery of God, and of the
Father, and of Christ;
Colossians 3:10 And have put on
the new man, which is renewed in knowledge <1922> after the image of him that created him:
1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all
men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge <1922> of the truth.
2
Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover
themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his
will.
·
Greek:
That they may return to soberness or awake out of the snare of the devil, after
having being hunted down, taken captive, and caught alive by the devil, in
order to do his will.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
·
Be temperate dispassionate and serious in your life, be awake and
watchful, because your opponent in a suit of law, the devil, (to thoroughly cast, throw,
or hurl) as a roaring lion, conducts himself around, arduously and earnestly
seeking, whom he may drink down, swallow, consume, and destroy.
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to
the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the
spirit that now worketh
in the children of disobedience:
· This particular verse is in the present participle. Simply speaking it signifies that the sons of disobedience energize the scheme of the devil on a continuous basis. The word for disobedience is being non compliant.
2Thess 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already
work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom
the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
· That in the manifestation of the presence of God, the wicked one is destroyed.
· In actuality, the word for “destroy” means to render useless, idle or ineffective, the works of the Evil One.
· We need to spend time in the presence of the Lord.
Sincerity
(Helikrinas)
1 Cor 5:8 Therefore let us keep the
feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness;
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Philippians 1:9 ¶ And this I pray,
that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge(thorough knowledge) and in all judgment;(discernment)
Greek: ( my paraphrase included in italics) That your love may abound yet more (but always held bounded within the river banks of a) a full precise and accurate knowledge of the things of God and in all discernment( Judgment is
defined as discernment. Likewise charity must be always held in check within
the river banks of our discernment of God’s voice and our discernment of what
is of God, and what does not come from Him.)
10
that ye may approve things that
are excellent;(
what differs or excels) that ye may be sincere (judged by the sun) and without offence till the day of Christ;
·
· Greek:
That you may recognize as genuine upon examination the things that are differing. Your
recognition of what differs will allow you to choose only what is excelling or
best towards your fulfillment of the things that pertain to Christ. This will cause you to become so pure that it will allow for the beams of
sunlight to shine through you unhindered. Likewise you will become as one
that has nothing that will make others stumble when they observe your life
before the Lord.
2 Peter 3:1 This second
epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds
by way of remembrance:
·
Let
us once again note for the sake of importance.
In the New Testament, the Law is symbolic of our attempts to please God,
or serve Him, outside of the direct voice of the Holy Spirit. Thus we come to serve the Lord through our
own efforts, agendas, and strength. This is The Law.
Romans 7:4 Wherefore, my
brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye
should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we
should bring forth fruit unto God.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are
Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that
our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Romans 7:5 For when we were
in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our
members to bring forth fruit unto death.
1 Cor 15:56 The sting of death
is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
·
The dunamis
power belonging to sin is found in the law
6
But
now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that
we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
·
The process
of serving the Lord by our own strength, out of condemnation, guilt,
performance, our own agendas and programs was made non operational,
broken down and junked out from our lives, so that now we can serve the
Lord by a simple walk of attaining to all the promises and blessings of God
through the voice of the Holy Spirit.
7
¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had
not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had
said, Thou shalt not covet.
· In now wise would I had I progressive
knowledge of sin if not through the law.
This is why God brought the law in the first place, but not for us to
serve Him by it.
8
But
sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of
concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
Ro 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there
shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
·
Through the
law comes the full and precise and accurate knowledge of sin.
Romans 7:9 For I was alive
without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
10 And the commandment,
which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
11
For
sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
·
Also because
sin was given a base of operations through the law part it not only fully works
every type of lust, but also deception, thereby killing us.
14 ¶ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold
under sin.
1.
For
that which I fully and thoroughly accomplish in absolutely no way do I have an
acquaintance or knowledge of. For what
I wish or will, in no way can I habitually practice. But what I hate, this is what I do.
3.
It
is no longer I who is fully working out and accomplishing these things, but the
indwelling sin which is me,
4.
I
intuitively know that in no way dwells in me, that is in my flesh, what is
good, for to will is present besides me, but to fully carry out and accomplish
the good that in now way can I find.
5.
In
no way the good that I will, do I end up doing, but what I in no way will this
I end up habitually practicing.
25 I thank God through Jesus
Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with
the flesh the law of sin.
·
Our final
deliverance does not come then through us trying to keep the law but through
the image of Jesus Christ now created in us, or Christ revealed in us who works
instrumentally back through us to deliver us. We will speak about this later.
Romans 8:1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are
in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2
For
the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of
sin and death.
·
The
law of the spirit of life resides in the person of Christ. As Christ is revealed or we are conformed
into his image, this law becomes more evident.
When we obey Christ in the spirit, versus attempting to please God by
our efforts through the law, the law of the spirit of life “kicks in” or is
activated.
·
What is the law of the law of the
spirit of life? It is the law that
brings the life, the blessings, the righteousness, the freedom, and the power
of God into our lives. In other words,
every time that we choose to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit we activate the
blessings of God according to this law.
·
The law of sin and death is
activated at any time that we choose to follow God in the flesh, through the
law, and not in accordance to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
·
It is of vital importance for us
that we comprehend, that the law of the Spirit of life in the person of Christ
is more powerful than the law of sin and death. If we always endeavor, to serve the Holy Spirit in accordance to
His voice, the law of the Spirit of life will continue to set us free from all
sin until we are perfectly conformed or renewed into the image of Christ within
us.
3 For
what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending
his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the
flesh:
·
For void of
power is the law in that it became weak through our flesh. But Christ passed a condemnatory sentence upon
the sin that dwells in the flesh.
4 That
the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit.
Grace
( The Law of the Spirit of Life)
Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be
sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I
live; yet not I, but
Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of
the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God:
for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
The apostle Peter tells us that grace is brought to us whenever the Lord Jesus is revealed.
· In Galatians two, twenty and twenty-one, grace is defined as Christ living in us, and we living our lives in accordance to His life.
·
Watchman Nee, the
great Chinese apostle, has given to us what I think is the most accurate
definition of the law and grace. He
stated, and I paraphrase; the law is defined as us trying to please God, by
doing everything through our own efforts, plans, and ideas. Grace on the other hand, is God doing
everything in us, and for us, through His superhuman energy. Grace is something
that belongs to God, because it is associated with the person of Christ, and
dwells in His revelation. Grace, then, is Christ laboring in us.
1 Corinthians
15:10 But by the grace of God I am what
I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly
than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God
which was with me.
Galatians 2:8 (For he that wrought effectually (put
forth power, and energy to
operate effectively) in Peter to the apostleship of the
circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)
· Notice Paul’s use of vocabulary in First Corinthians, as he describes grace to us. Though he labored in the gospel, he was not the one laboring, but it was the Person of Christ laboring in him by His grace. Grace then is the power, the superhuman effort, the spiritual gifts, and the glory of Christ all laboring in Paul, by Christ Himself.
·
By the
abundance of the revelation of Christ within us is the abundance of grace or
the superhuman labor of Christ manifested in us and for us. The more the presence of Christ within us,
the more that He will influence us, or the more that His influence will affect
us. The revelation of Christ can only
be brought by the work of the cross.
The less that we become by the death of self, the more that He is
revealed. You can see why I am so concerned about the present state of the
church, where the cross of Christ is not being preached.
Col
1:29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according
to his working (ENERGY), which worketh (IS ENERGIZED) in me mightily( IN DUNAMIS POWER) .
· Whereunto I labor to the point of
exhaustion, just in the same way that a spiritual athlete would agonize in
competitions according to the energy that is effectively put forth by Christ
dunamis power as he labors within me (GRACE). Laboring according to Christ’s
energy allows its two functions work within us.
1 Corinthians 1:23
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto
the Greeks foolishness;
·
We preach Christ as being crucified
·
The law of the cross is energized through obedience
2 Cor 4:10 Always bearing
about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus
might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are
alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might
be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be
ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
·
Do not
fashion yourself to the blueprint of this age, but be metamorphosized by the
total overhauling and deliverance of your mind, intellect, and focus of your
life.
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
·
Become
recently born, young, youthful in the spirit belonging to your focus in life,
plans.
·
Briefly
discuss our teaching about the devil.
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge
after the image of him that created him:
·
Having
put on the recently born, young and youthful which is being
changed into the full and accurate and precise knowledge of the totally new God
kind of life in accordance to the image of the one who created Him.
Phillip
3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may
be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working (ENERGY) whereby he
is able ( HE HAS THE
CAPACITY) even to subdue ( SUBORDINATE IN MILITARY ORDER) all things unto
himself.
·
According to the
energy by which He is capable and able to subordinate in a military fashion
every type of thing unto Himself.
·
One aspect of God’s energy is to
subordinate what is not of Him and then to break down, make useless and junk
what is not Him.
·
Another vital treasure
dwelling within Christ, and one, which we will refer to in the remainder of
this study, is “the Christ whom subdues all things to Himself.”
·
To subdue, is a military term
comparable to a general with an army in perfect submission, hierarchy, and
order, beneath him.
·
One of the most important desires
of Christ is to subdue all that is not of Him in this military and hierarchal
order. The verses immediately below, all use the very same Greek word found for
the subduing in Philippians 3:21; thus showing a vital
part of the mind of God towards us in the finished work of Christ.
Ephesians
6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power
(OUTWARD DOMINION) of his might.(
INNER STRENGTH)
·
Be empowered in the Lord and in
the display of outward dominion
as a measure of His inner residing strength.
· Christ ability to subdue is an absolute necessity for us, since it is the work of Christ to set us free. Subduing however, can also have a very negative connotation. Dictators, such as Hitler, Castro, and others, focused their whole lives on the subduing of people. Christ, likewise, focuses much of His work in subduing, but only of things that are evil and harmful to humanity.
· In the case of evil dictators, the subduing of peoples is called dominating, or exercising dominion over them. This evil exercise of dominion accomplishes a power as it is carried out, called the power of dominion or domination, in proportion to the strength of the dictator.
·
In Eph 6:10 we find this exact principle at work. Translated for us it commands us to be
empowered in the Lord and in the domination or dominion exerted by His inner
residing strength strength.
·
This dominion or domination
is what gives the Lord the ability to subdue all things unto Himelf.
·
Are we beginning to get the
picture? The revelation of Christ
within us, triggered by the law of the cross through our obedience, reveals the
Christ who dominates and subdues all, thus setting us free!
Eph
3:16 That he would grant you, according to the
riches of his glory, to be strengthened
(STRENGTHENED WITH DOMINATING OR SUBJUGATING STRENGTH) with might (AS SEEN IN HIS DUNAMIS POWER) by his Spirit in ( AS IT IS FUNNELED INTO) the inner man;
·
In order that He may give you according to the riches of His glory,
dunamis power in its facet of dominion by His Spirit to be funneled into our inner man
·
Greek: That God’s power
deposited into your inner man through the Holy Spirit will be seen or
translated as Christ’s dominion exerted in you and through you.
· The results of this subduing or dominion whisks us right into
verse seventeen
Col
1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his
glorious (GLORY) power(DOMINION), unto all
patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
·
Strengthened
with all dunamis power according to the dominion His glory
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his
power toward us who believe, according to the working of his mighty( inward
strength) power,(outward
dominion)
·
Greek paraphrase. The exceeding greatness
of this power is funneled into those who continuously believe. The inward strength of God, which is
displayed as His outward dominion, is translated as the exceeding greatness of
His power, which is funneled into the believer. This funneling is limited to
the continual believing of the Christian, which in turn is defined as the
uncompromising moment-by-moment obedience to God’s rhema word.
20
Which he wrought in Christ, when he
raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the
heavenly places,
·
Which He wrought, can be defined, as the working
through, or the accomplishing of something with absolute effectiveness,
resulting in its becoming fully operational.
·
The definition of God’s DUNAMIS POWER was the energy that
was “put out” (in the historical event 2000 years ago), as Christ
was raised up from a corpse and made to sit far above in rank, power, and
physical distance over all principalities, powers, and might, dominions,
and all names which are named both in heaven and upon the earth.
· This dunamis
power was once and for all energized INTO CHRIST. Because Christ lives in us,
so does this DUNAMIS POWER.
·
The
exceeding greatness of God’s power; the translation of the dominion of the
strength found within God, is fully and eternally operational inside the Person
of His Son! The effective and full
operation of this dominating or subduing power can be proved in that Christ sat
down at the right hand of the Father after His resurrection. One who sits down can only do so after
conquering all; it is the position of rest. This Christ dwells in
us
21 Far
above all principality (BEGINNING),
and power(AUTHORITY),
and might,
(DUNAMIS POWER) and dominion(
LORDSHIP OR BONDAGE), and
every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which
is to come:
·
Far above in rank, power, and physical distance
·
Every type of principality – Or the beginning of every
created thing
·
We know a principality to be an
authoritative demonic being. However,
in the NT, the word principality is also used for a physical beginning, the
creation of something, and the root source of something. The dunamis power of God in Christ, and
available to us, is far above in rank and power, above every root problem such
as generational sins, curses, judgments, and the root causes and beginnings in
diseases. This is very important to us
when we minister. A simple knowledge of
this facet of God’s power will allow us to exercise God’s power with a new
level of faith.
·
Authority Power of choice; liberty to do as one
pleases; jurisdiction such as a state police has over every road within a
state; the power of rule and government
·
Authority is the power of choice; or the liberty to do as
one pleases, such as the jurisdiction enjoyed by a state policeman or woman
over every road and highway within the state wherein they work. Cancer, for example has its own authority,
in that it can spread at will throughout the human body. However the authority found
in Christ’s dunamis power has an authority far above in rank and power over
that of cancer. By our words, as they are tempered or alloyed 50/50 with faith,
the kingly sway, the power of choice, or the liberty of action to command the
cancer where we please, is available to us.
·
Dunamis
power The inherent power
in every created thing that defines it and gives to it its life.
·
As we spoke earlier on, dunamis power is
the inherent power exclusive, to every created thing. Water, has an inherent power of its own, which gives to it its
life, and defines it as water exclusive of any another object. Cancer has another type of dunamis
power. God has His own dunamis
power. The dunamis or inherent power of
Christ resident in us is far in rank and power above the inherent power of any
other created object. Hallelujah! When we minister, we know that Christ’s
inherent power will subordinate, subjugate and destroy the inherent power
sustaining the evil that we are ministering against.
·
The inherent or dunamis power of something
gives to it life, glory, and honor.
Cancer, though evil in nature, has its own evil glory and honor. The word, “to rebuke” is
defined as “UPON THE
HONOR.” When we rebuke cancer in JESUS NAME, we are heaping Christ’s power
to bear upon the honor of the root source of the cancer, the liberty that it
exercises and the very inherent power that makes it up and gives to its life.
·
Lordship- Someone or something which can bring
into bondage.
·
And every name that identifies something for what it is exclusive of
anything else.
22
And hath put all things under his feet, and
gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
·
All
these Christ subordinated and subjected under His feet. When God gave Christ be to be head over all
of these things to the church; this same power is now available to us.
1
Cor 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have
delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down ( TO CAUSE SOMETHING
TO BECOME NON OPERATIONAL AND NON WORKING SO THAT IT MUST BE JUNKED!!) all rule
and all authority and power.
·
Jesus will give the kingdom to God and the
Father only when He shall have rendered totally ineffective (as and old car
with an old engine, that finally breaks down and ceases to function any more
and must be junked) every type of principalities and roots sources of all
evils, all authorities which are not from God
·
(Absolute
power of choice; total liberty to do as one pleases; full jurisdiction such as
a state police has over every road and highway within a state; the power of
rule and government) and
every type of inherent power that gives life and function to every type of
evil.
·
Jesus will give the kingdom to God and the
Father only when He shall have rendered totally ineffective (as and old car with an old
engine, that finally breaks down and ceases to function any more, and must be
junked) every type of principality and
roots sources of all evils, all authorities or jurisdictions which are
not from God, and
every type of inherent power that gives life, function, glory, and honor .
Romans
6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified
with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed (NON OPERATIONAL, NON WORKING, AND JUNKED)that
henceforth we should not serve sin.
Hebrews
2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers
of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that
through death he might destroy
(NON OPERATIONAL, NON WORKING, AND
JUNKED!!) him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
We are encouraged here to take the whole armor of God
and having done all to stand, to stand therefore. "Having done all" is the
word "katergazomai.'
Simply stated, “having
done all, to stand,” is wonderfully
depicted by the cartoons of the coyote and the roadrunner. In one of their many scuffles, as a ball of
dull is kicked up, both of these guys always got lost in their dusty
fights. When the dust finally settles,
the roadrunner usually remained standing.
This
is exactly what it means to “having done all, to stand.”! We must fight by the Spirit without
compromise, or without discouragement, until we remain standing victoriously;
as Satan, sin and the world lay scattered at our feet in full visibility,
once our ball of dust finally settles!
·
The command is to carry out
all things to a complete victory!
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always
obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation
with fear and trembling.
·
To finalize today’s teaching,
the word for working out
in Philippians two is exactly the same Greek word as “having done
all” found in Ephesians chapter six.
·
Here Paul commands us to work out, carry out, and accomplish
absolutely everything to completion that pertains to our salvation, and that
with utmost serious cautiousness.
·
The verb tense is in the
present middle, which simply means that the work must be our own. Salvation never comes out magical passivity,
laziness, pew sitting, and disobedience.
·
We must hear and find out
what the Holy Spirit tells us to do, but the activity must be ours, and it must
be constant and in perfect agreement with the voice of the Spirit through the
rhema word of God.
